How'd you feel about the O's these days?
Before the Olympic Stadium/Hearn saga, relations between us and Leyton Orient, both club and fans seemed to be fine. Since then, they're perceived as Mini Spurs; a support base that in places supported Barry Hearn's crusade to stop us becomes tenants of the London Stadium by hook and by crook, because it could put them out of business, while at the same time supporting the Yid bid.

I've always had affection for Orient, same with Dagenham as if they're family, the div cousin, but their support of the Spurs bid did taint my feelings for them at the time.

Water under the bridge for me. I had a browse at one of their forums and they seem to like us. A few blokes online might not be a great representation of the lager support, but I've never met an O's fan who had any bad feeling towards West Ham.

Been a few time in the last couple of seasons (the father in law has a couple of season tickets) since that cunt of a man Hearn is pretty much out of the picture. He stirred up so much shit with our move aided by SkySports & Talksport sucking his tiny nob whenever they could. Got to say the walk down from the station to the ground reminds my of what’s missing for us now at Stratford. Went to the Dagenham match on New Year’s Day, quite enjoyable and probably should have been a bigger score than the 3-0 win.

I went them 2 games with me old man. The villa one, the crowd was officially about 29,000 but there was a lot more than that. Remember their chairman at the time was another greedy bastard like hearn and went on the pitch before the game and was waving people across towards the middle of the open ends to get more in. Think they drew 1-1? but had to win. Think ray graydon scored a penalty for villa iirc.

Used to go over there a bit in the 70's the Game against Villa I think they need to win to go up to the old 1st Division and the Cup semi Final against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge both very lively with lots of Hammers in attendance.

Used to go over there as a young 'un when we were away and I couldn't afford to travel but whenever the announcer read out the half time and full time results if we were winning it got booed and cheered if we were losing so after a while I thought bollocks to this lot. That and getting pelted with anything that wasn't nailed down in a game against Wrexham. How do I feel these days,It's a shame but I won't lose any sleep.

17 Aug 1974, Orient v Man U div 2.
The Mancs came in force but didn’t expect West Ham to be their welcoming party.

I've never had a problem with their supporters only the thickos believed the shit Hearn was spouting and most I've spoken to have see through his asset stripping act. The shit he gave West Ham was because he was paid to do so by that snake Levy. Hearn is the person most hated by the Orient supporters.

My dad used to take me over there when West Ham were playing away.
Tommy Taylor was playing for them then.
Can't say I dislike them they're hardly glory hunters.
Wasn't the goalkeeper Mike Pinner who was actually amateur?

Us hipsters actually hate them for changing their name from CLAPTON Orient...and their persecution of Clapton FC.

One local pub has an original Clapton Orient scarf hanging up.

Hipsters have definitely infiltrated the O’s.

Gavvy probably has a half and half scarf with them and us.

Yeh that sounds about right in the 70s.
Saw some decent teams when me old man took me over there as a kid. Child cruelty! (even see Aberdeen in the Anglo-Scottish cup one night). Think a young Hansen was playing for em.

But as you say, nowadays don't really think about em, unless me old man mentions em.

Re: How'd you feel about the O's these days?
When I was at school during the early 70’s our class was mainly split three ways between West Ham, O’s and Tottenham supporters. The West Ham and O’s supporters would accompany each other every other week to each other’s Ground (the Spurs lot would keep themselves to themselves.)

I watched a few interesting matches in the old division two, as it was, seeing the likes of Bolton, Blackpool and Oldham, before we played them later that decade. Fast forward to Hearn’s reign and I really hoped that Orient would go out of existence due to Hearn’s money grabbing stance against us.

Anyway, a few weeks ago, on the way home on the Central Line after a match, a few O’s fans got on the carriage at Leyton and looked at those of us in claret and blue as if they had trod in dogs mess, the cheek of it! I doubt it very much but I really hope that they stay where they are in non league.
